In a recent display of unwavering commitment, OES came to the rescue of LPG Serenity Gas Vessel, operated by Seaform Hamburg, when it urgently required emergency services for two out of its three 500KVA gen-sets powered by Cummins KTA-19 engines were non-operational.

In a remarkable display of efficiency and collaboration, Cummins Arabia and OES swiftly came to the aid of the LPG Serenity Gas Vessel during a critical situation. The vessel faced a race against time to reach the FOTCO oil terminal, with port compliance mandating at least two out of three DGs to be operational for berthing.

OES, in partnership with M International Marine services, mobilised their expert service team, arriving promptly early morning. OES team successfully restored the gen-set operations within few hours on the same day. This crucial intervention enabled the LPG Serenity Gas Vessel to navigate to Karachi harbour and berth on the FOTCO jetty within the stipulated timeframe, saving the customer from incurring heavy losses and fines.

Not only did OES team successfully restore the non-functional DGs, but they also delivered a comprehensive technical assessment to the Seaform Hamburg staff, offering valuable insights to prevent future mishaps and enhance overall equipment efficiency.

Acting swiftly and efficiently, OES ensured that the vessel received the necessary assistance, demonstrating once again why we are a go-to choice for reliable and prompt solutions in the industry.

We are pleased to announce the signing of a 25 MWp solar project with Lucky Cement Limited (PSX: LUCK).

This project will promote renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources for sustainable economic development. The solar plant shall be installed at their Karachi Cement plant. This will not only reduce the cost of generation at Lucky Cement and will also have a positive impact on the environment with a reduction of 23,800 tCO2 emissions per annum.

OES team has worked with the LCL team to come up with the right capacity to be installed considering the cement plant's existing energy mix which comprises gas generators in combined cycle, Kiln waste heat recovery and Grid.

Our Extraction Condensing Steam Turbine is manufactured by HCTC, a leading manufacturer of steam turbines. This steam turbine has a capacity of 4MW without extraction and 2MW with extraction. Our extraction-condensing steam turbine will generate electricity and provide the option of extracting the steam from the turbine that can be utilized in plant utilities. This makes our solution cost-effective and environmentally friendly as it maximizes resource use and minimizes waste.

On March 28th, 2023. an industrial visit was organized for The Hunar Foundation students. Hunar Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Pakistan that aims to provide vocational training to underprivileged youth in the country.

When pursuing a professional degree in the field on electrical and mechanical, OES industrial visit has its own importance for students because only the theoretical knowledge is not sufficient for their proper understanding of the actual business operations at the ground level.

The visit was curated by OES to provide students a detailed explanation of technical department and their role in the company along with safety hazard and HSE policy. Students were taken to the workshop floor, where they were exposed to practical work related to generators, engines, alternators etc.

Previously Arabian Textile Mills Ltd has procured Gensets and chillers from OES, considering the professional work ethics and technical skill sets of OES team they chose OES to setup RO plant at their premises. We managed to supply, install and perform testing & commissioning of complete Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Plant successfully with (Sea Water RO 200,000 Imperial Gallons per Day on feed TDS of up to 12,000ppm).

Reverse osmosis is a separation technique in which pressure applied to a solution forces the solvent through a semipermeable membrane from a region of low concentration to one of high concentration, leaving behind the solutes. The membrane allows passage of small solution components, such as fresh water, while preventing passage of larger molecules, like salts and other impurities. The overall recovery of the water is about 62%. The water has been utilised in process, dying and utility purposes by the company.

Veolia, a renowned Global Water Treatment group provided a turnkey solution to Dubai Municipality Sewage Treatment Plant for their waste to Energy project with the installation of 4 X Innio Jenbacher JGC 420 Sewage gas engines with total installed capacity of 6 MW.

OES has provided complete solution including supply of gensets, installation supervision, testing and commissioning. The power from gensets will be used for Sewage plant load demand and surplus power can be exported to local grid.

During the Sewage Treatment Process, this particular plant produce sewage gas of 2600 Nm3/hr. as a byproduct of the process, which is flared in the atmosphere. The typical composition of Sewage gas is 50% Methane, 40% CO2 and other volatile gases. Innio Jenbacher biogas engines are specially designed to burn this gas efficiently and with the recovery of engine heat from hot water & exhaust overall plant efficiency reaches more than 85%.

Burj Capital, 7 MW Power Cement Limited Solar project has been nominated for the award of the solar project, in the category of best C&I (commercial and industrial) projects based outside of the Middle East by Mesia Ventures.

Burj's team highlighted the uniqueness and challenges of the largest on-site solar PPA, the first hybrid plant in Pakistan, and recognized the efforts of all the partners and their team members to turn this dream into a reality.

Supply and construction of 5MW and 2MW ground-mounted solar system projects were awarded to OES by Burj Capital in the year 2022 for Power Cement. The location, structure, resources, activities, and other project variables made this project different from other solar projects. This is the largest PPA installation in Pakistan, It is the first hybrid wind-solar PPA plant in Pakistan. One-year wind data collection is in process.

Defying all odds OES managed to install solar plants at Power Cement located at Nooriabad within 6 months.

Solar Energy commits to balancing Power Cement electricity consumption from the grid by off-taking an environment-friendly energy source. This project shall produce 200GWh and offset up to 112,000 tons of CO2.

OES made a pledge during the year 2021 workshop that this year OES will conduct at least 01 STOP Work Authority Mock Drill campaign and reports will be shared with ENI. As per signed HSE requirement, OES honoured ENI pledge and managed to conduct Stop Work Authority Mock Drills. During the workshop OES Jenbacher Service team received an appreciation shield from Mr Paolo Giraudi (MD ENI Pakistan Ltd.) for conducting the outstanding research and presentation.

Saya Weaving Mills, one of our valued clients and end-user of Jenbacher gas generators, currently operating on 5.5 MW gas operated power plant, were seeking an avenue to recover the jacket water heat from their plant. OES pitched the idea of installing a hot water absorption chiller which ultimately provide cooling to their humidification plant of weaving sheds.

Saya Weaving Mills is currently in process of installing 01 No Shuangliang two stage hot water operated absorption chiller model HSB-1157H2 of net cooling capacity of 759 RT on the combine header of 01 x JMS-616 + 01 x JGS-420 B311 + 01 x JGS-420 B05 at 90% load.

Two stage hot water operated absorption chiller is a patent design of Shuangliang . OES has managed to supply and install more than 85 chillers of this type in textile sector of Pakistan, making us the number one choice in the local industry for absorption chiller.

3.5 MW Ground Mounted Solar System at Diamond International Corporation Limited.

PAEC General Hospital, DG Khan required a backup / emergency power source and trusted OES to provide the best resource and services to seal the deal. OES DGS team managed to supply CPG 1 x C550 D5 (500kVA Prime Rating) & 1 x C330 D5B (300kVA Prime Rating) to M/s Fazal Malik & Co. (FMC) in May 2022.

OES believe in building relationships with customers solely on the grounds of trust and honesty, with the intent of providing optimum solutions. OES team managed to provide a test run for both gensets at KHI warehouse, gensets were tested and inspected in the presence of CEO FMC, Chief Engineer and Executive Engineer of PAEC General Hospital, DG Khan.

Lucky Cement Limited, Karachi hired expertise of OES to overhaul their 15MW HCTC Waste Heat Recovery Steam Turbine installed at their cement facility. Steam Turbine was installed in 2009-2010 and completed 80,000 plus running hours. For overhaul LCL choose OES to carry out the work keeping in consideration Company’s past expertise in maintenance, repair and overhaul of Steam turbine.

OES team successfully completed overhauling of steam turbine which improved the capability of steam turbine to generate 12.5 MW, earlier the turbine was not able to run beyond 4.5MW load. This successful commissioning adds another milestone in OES service sector profile.

OES scope of services included, but not limited to, as follows:
• Rotor Sand Blasting
• Rotor journal grinding, polishing and balancing
• NDT Testing
• Grinding, White metaling and polishing of turbine bearing

OES team completed the job without OEM presence and successful commissioning was done within the stipulated time frame without any failure and turbine started running successfully.

Successful completion of turbine overhaul has opened up new avenues for OES and customers are relying on OES for a reliable solution for steam turbine maintenance and overhauls in absence of OEMs personnel thus reducing the cost of overhaul services.

Ellcot Spinning Mills (Nagina Group) is one of OES most prestigious client, located in Raiwind Lahore, they have been operating on our 2 x 4MW JMS-624H Jenbacher Gas engines.

OES workshop and services team recently overhauled 1 x 624 engine after successful performing 30,000 hours in Lahore, after the successful overhauling, our team also managed to re-commissioned the engine at site using state of the art recommended tools and followed the complete protocols related to re-commissioning.

It gives us immense pleasure to announce an achievement of OES for its efforts towards sustainable growth of clean and green energy in Pakistan, through operation of three more 50 MW wind power plant in the Jhimpir wind corridor, namely, DIN Energy Ltd, Liberty 1 Wind Power & Lakeside Energy Ltd has recently achieved COD.

DIN, Liberty1 and Lakeside are other three successfully completed WPPs of OES, those are completely operational now. Earlier, OES’s SGRE Framework team had completed COD of two projects of 50MW each namely, Master Green and Lucky (Tricom) Wind Power Plant. With the addition of 3 more projects, OES Framework team has delivered a cumulative capacity of 250MW of green energy to the national grid.

At these projects, OES has provided services of pre quality inspections of WTG equipment, erection of WTGs as per SGRE quality protocols, mechanical completion inspections , energization, testing and commissioning of Wind turbines as prescribed in the EPA including RRT while maintaining highest degree of HSE compliance.

To acknowledge diligent efforts exhibited by OES Team during the installation and energization of DIN wind farm, they awarded OES with a shield of appreciation, during the post-COD celebrations organized by the investors at project site.

Award of contract 7MW Solar Power Project- Power Cement & Burj Capital

Rak Ghani Glass LLc UAE is one of the most prestigious end user of Orient FZCO, possessing three Waukesha Gas Engines L5794LTD Extender Engines of 900KW each, operating in Ras AL Khaimah, UAE. OES scope included supply of Waukesha parts and services. All three engines have successfully completed 60,000 running hours. OES recently performed major overhauling of these engines along with load tested engine and handed over to client for normal operation.

This was a fast track project where OES trained and skilled team members brought another feather to OES cap by completing this project only within a span of 2 months, which indeed is a remarkable achievement in the power generation industry.

Our scope involved engineering and installation of Exhaust System, Fuel Gas System, Cooling Water System, Lube Oil System, Ventilation System, Control Panels, MCC Panels, Cable Tray Network, Earth interconnection system, Laying and termination of MV & LV Power and Control cables, MV & LV Cables Testing (Hipot & Megger) and Commissioning of Gas Generator sets.
